Google Photos will end free uploads Starting June 1, 2021, all you need to know is here

Google Photos storage policy: Starting June 1, 2021, all the "High-quality" images or videos that you upload will be counted toward your 15GB Google Drive storage limit.

Google Photos will end free high-quality uploads in just three weeks. The search giant announced its new unlimited high-quality storage policy back in November 2020. Starting June 1, 2021, all the “High-quality” images or videos that you upload on Google Photos will be counted toward your Google Drive storage limit. So what this means? We tried to answer all your questions to make it easier for you to understand Google’s new storage policy.

No free unlimited high-quality uploads from June 1: What this means?

Starting June 1, 2021, the photos or videos uploaded on the Google Photos app will be counted toward the free 15GB storage that one gets with every Google account. Google lets you upload any photo or video in three sizes – Original quality, High quality, and Express.

Those who have selected “Original quality” and are already paying for Google One storage don’t need to worry as the new storage policy only affects those who prefer the free unlimited uploads feature. The “High quality” and “Express” options let you save unlimited photos at slightly low quality. The “High quality” option compresses images to 16MP and videos to high definition, whereas the “Express” option compresses photos to 3MP and videos to standard definition.
Google will end this unlimited free storage option and from June 1, all your photos or videos will be counted toward your Google Account storage. Once the provided 15GB storage space gets full, you will either have to buy the Google One subscription for additional storage or delete some photos for some extra space.

It is worth noting that all the existing high-quality content will remain exempted from storage quota, as per Google. This means that if you upload any photo or video in high quality before June 1, 2021, then those won’t be counted toward your Google account storage.

If you have Pixel 5 or earlier versions, then this new storage policy won’t affect you. Pixel phone users will continue to receive unlimited free storage option. Google will also delete the content of accounts inactive for more than two years starting June 1.

How to check how much Google Photos storage you have used?

All you need to do is open the Google Photos app and visit the settings section by tapping on the profile icon, located on the top right corner of the screen.

Under the Account Storage section, the app displays how much storage you have used until now. When you tap again on Account storage, you will notice Upload size section at the bottom of the screen.

Google can even estimate how long your storage may last and this will be based on how often you back up content to your Google Account.

Why is Google changing the storage policy?

Back in November 2020, Google Photos Product lead David Lieb explained on Twitter that the storage policy needs to be changed because free backups are costing big to the company. It is a necessary step to “align the primary cost” of offering free service while also accepting the “primary value” of online storage.

Google says “over 1 billion people back up a remarkable 28 billion photos to Google Photos each week. In order to welcome even more of your memories and build for the future, we are making this change.”

Google One subscription price in India

The basic subscription of Google One offers you 100GB storage space for Rs 130 per month or Rs 1,300 on a yearly basis. By paying this, you get lots of storage space, which you can even share with your family. For 200GB storage space, you will be required to pay Rs 210 per month or 2,100 per annum. For 2TB, the price of Google One in India is Rs 650 per month and Rs 6,500 per year. For 10TB, the price is Rs 3,250 per month.
Google Photos alternatives
You can check out the best Google Photos alternatives here. There’s the India-based DigiBoxx as well, which is giving 20GB of free cloud storage and 100GB of storage space per month for just Rs 30. One can also use Degoo. It offers 100GB of free cloud storage, but you will also witness ads. This cloud storage service has a 500GB storage plan as well, which offers no ad and will cost $2.99 per month (around Rs 220 in India.)

WhatsApp Pay

WhatsApp Payments Via UPI

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) approved WhatsApp payments last week, allowing people make and receive payments via the app.
The messaging service app has designed the payments feature using Unified Payment Interface (UPI) to enable transactions with over 160 supported banks.

To use the service, WhatsApp users must have an active bank account in India that supports UPI and debit card. The primary phone number linked with this bank account must match their WhatsApp-linked phone number.

Users need to add their bank account on WhatsApp by going to settings and then to payments to add a new account.
They can then select the name of the bank from the drop down list of banks, and then choose the bank account they want to make and receive payments via WhatsApp, and then click Done.
(Users need to use the latest version of WhatsApp for payments to work on their device. They can download it from the Google Play Store or visit whatsapp.com/download.)
To transfer funds, users have to open chat with the person they want to send money to, and tap on attachment icon and choose payment.
They need to verify their debit card information by entering the last 6 digits of their debit card number and expiration date, and tap done.
Users then need to create a UPI PIN, enter it under SETUP UPI PIN and tap Submit.
Once UPI Setup is complete, they can tap Done.
They can now open the chat with whom they would like to send money, tap attachment icon and click payment, enter amount and description for the payment, and click Send.
Once the payment is sent, the transaction details will be listed in the chat, including a transaction ID. Users may receive a confirmation SMS from their bank.
Users will not be able to send money if the recipient contact does not have WhatsApp payment enabled on their device.
They can send notifications to them to enable WhatsApp payments.
On WhatsApp chat, they need to tap the attachment icon and click payment. They can then click Notify to let the other person know about WhatsApp Payments.
The recipient can tap accept payment, select Accept and Continue to accept Payments Terms and Privacy Policy.
They can then select the bank from the list of banks and the bank account linked to their WhatsApp phone number and tap Done to receive payments.

#Facebook Video vs #YouTube Video find better one.

Live streams are now, mainstream. Live video has grown faster than most mediums, because it establishes a real-time connection and facilitates a conversation between the streamer and the audience. Nowadays, most social media platforms and video platforms allow you to stream live video. But, between the 2 major platforms, YouTube and Facebook, which one is actually the best for you to live stream to? On this blog post, we’ll talk about YouTube live vs. Facebook live. Here, you’ll find a side-by-side comparison between Facebook and YouTube, to help you decide where to focus your live streaming efforts as a brand or individual.

Regardless of the platform, you prefer, keep in mind that they are the 2 biggest platforms out there. If you want to build an online audience, it’s wise to have an online presence on both. You can share different content on each of them, but for live streaming events and intricate live videos, you can and should go live on both platforms at the same time. This way, you’ll be able to take advantage of each platform’s best qualities.

On the other hand, for more spontaneous live video content or a more specific type of content, you might be better off choosing one of the 2 platforms. As we’ll see below, Facebook has its own upsides and so does YouTube.

Side-by-side YouTube live vs. Facebook live Live Comparison

Facebook users vs. YouTube users & Viewing time

As far as active users go, Facebook has 1.9 billion per month and YouTube has “only” 1.3 billion. But, Facebook users are not there only for videos, they might be engaging with their friends, checking their news feed, reading articles, visiting pages and groups etc. Whereas, YouTube users are on the platform mostly to watch on-demand or live videos. That’s why, when it comes to video’s viewing time, YouTube is still ahead, but not by far.

Live Streaming – Technical comparison between Facebook Live and Youtube Live

When it comes to the technical side of the YouTube live vs. Facebook live comparison, the differences are more significant. The first thing you’ll notice is that Facebook’s settings for live video are much more limiting than on YouTube. While on YouTube live you can choose between a wide range of resolutions and bitrates, on Facebook you can’t go above 720p. Although 720p gives you a good video quality for live streaming, it’s not the best.

Based on the progress of live streaming and video content in general, it’s safe to say that things are going towards higher quality and longer videos. Which means Facebook needs to step up their game. Though, it’s understandable that YouTube has better video settings because it’s a video platform after all.

On both platforms, it’s possible to get stream keys which allow users to use other software for live streaming or tools and create more professional live streams. They also allow users to stream to their own website or anywhere with the embed link. To either Facebook or YouTube, you can stream live videos from your mobile phone, which is essential for spontaneous live streams on the go.

Another crucial difference between YouTube live vs. Facebook live is the monetization process. YouTube makes it easier for content creators to get paid when live streaming, through ads, sponsors and fans’ support (super chats). Although not every channel is eligible for it. If your goal is to generate a revenue with your live streams, then, YouTube might be a better option. On Facebook, you can also have ads and shared revenue, but it’s not so simple.

YouTube live vs. Facebook live

Best Live Streaming Platform Overall – YouTube live vs. Facebook live

Considering all tools and settings, YouTube is a more professional platform for live streaming. It has video editing and managing tools, which are important if you want to consistently create video content.  As mentioned before, YouTube is a platform dedicated to video, and users go there to find videos of their interest. More than that, when someone subscribes to your channel, it means they want to see your videos. While people that follow your page on Facebook, aren’t necessarily there for your videos.

On top of all the settings options, YouTube videos are easily indexed by search engines, which means your videos are “searchable”. Even after your live video is over, people can find it on Google when searching for something related. While Facebook content is mostly discoverable within the platform itself, and sometimes, not even. Facebook videos rarely show up on the first page of google searches, unless the search has the term Facebook in it.

A video on YouTube has a longer lifespan because YouTube prioritizes view time and relevance. So, even after a while, your video can show up as suggestions for viewers. Whereas Facebook content is short-lived, because Facebook will always show the latest posts. The discoverability of videos on YouTube is one of their main advantages, but when it comes to the actual live video both platforms will favorite live video. Live video has the upper hand and will show up first on news feeds and searches.

So, why use Facebook live?

Facebook also has its advantages, since it’s THE most popular social media platform in the world. Chances are, you already have followers on Facebook as a business or individual, and you can connect with this audience through live video. Whereas, if you decide to start a channel on YouTube, you’ll start with 0 followers.

On Facebook, you can leverage the audience you already have and engage with them. If they like your live videos, they might share it with their friends, friends or friends and so on. It’s easier to share things on the same platform. For example, when you’re live on Facebook, people can share it on the same platform and others will also watch it there. On YouTube, they would have to share it to other platforms. Then, their friends would have to click on it and go back to YouTube.

Other Facebook Live advantages over YouTube

Another great advantage of Facebook live vs YouTube live is the notification system. While Facebook sends out multiple notifications to your followers, YouTube will send an email and maybe push notifications in the app. When you schedule a live stream, Facebook will notify your followers 1 hour before, 20 minutes before and 1 minute before you go live.

On Facebook, is also easy for your audience to engage with you or your brand and they can even use the “Reactions” instead of just liking the video. What’s more, you can be really specific when it comes to audience segmentation. So, you can choose who you want to share that live video with, which will also increase engagement if you target the right audience.

Last but not least, Facebook has a Facebook Live Map which is a really cool feature. It shows you all the live streams happening on Facebook around the world. You can also see how many people are watching each of them and where they are watching from.

As we can see, each platform has its own upsides and it can be hard to choose between a YouTube live vs. Facebook live session. The decision has to come down to your goals with your live stream. In other words, if your goal is monetization, YouTube will probably be the best option. On the other hand, if you want to reach and engage your existing audience, a Facebook live will help you out more. You can always go live on multiple platforms if you feel it’s going to be to your benefit.

In Summary

as per my personal opinion Facebook servers are slow to stream videos but YouTube is faster, so i recommend to see a video on YouTube if f that video is available on both platforms.

Android Q as Android 10 : Check Features why Android 10 and More . ?

Over the past decade or so Google has been naming its incremental Android versions as desserts and in alphabetical order. The last Android version Android 9.0 was named Pie and it now appears that this is the last time Google has named its Android version after a food item. The company has announced that as of Android Q, the names of incremental Android updates will no longer be named after desserts. As a matter of fact, they will not be named at all. Android Q will be called Android 10.

Google explained in its blog that Android's dessert names were not being properly understood by the global community. Google gave examples of the letters L and R which were not distinguishable when spoken in some languages.

What this means is that when someone heard the Android Lollipop it was not always clear in these dialects that it was the Android version after Kitkat. Google also mentions that Pies are not popular in many parts of the world and neither are marshmallows. Numbers, on the other hand, are universal and are recognised in every part of the world.
The company mentions that there were several dessert options considered for naming Android Q but at version 10 it was time to make a change.

Google is also changing the look of the Android logo after it was refreshed last in 2014. The new logo ↑↑↑ Above Image ↑↑↑ has the Android bot in it along with a new font and new black colour instead of the original green. Google will start using the updated logo in the coming weeks with the final release of Android 10.

WHAT DEVICES ARE INCLUDED ?
Google expanded the list of supported devices outside of its Pixel line, including 21 total devices from 12 different OEMs.

Android 10: Features
As is usually the case, Google only talks about a handful of features that it feels are important to users and developers alike. As we continue to test and use Android 10, we'll surely find new features and will update this post as needed. In the meantime, here are some features Google has talked about.

PRIVACY FIRST

The biggest area of focus of Android 10 appears to be related to user privacy. For example, users can now limit when an app has access to their location. In the past, you either gave an app access to your location, or you didn't. Starting with Android 10, you can limit an app's location access only when you are using the app.

There are also finer controls for file management, restricting access to device identifiers such as the IMEI, serial number, and other IDs that can help track a user.

BUBBLES!

Similar to Facebook Messenger's Chat Heads, Bubbles will display small circular, floating alerts on top of whatever it is you're currently doing on your Android device. Users will have to approve each app that wants to use Bubbles as a notification method, so your screen shouldn't be overrun with alerts from every app you have installed.

SHARING SHORTCUTS
I think every Android user can relate to how slow the share sheet loads. Right now, you tap on the share button, and then have to count to ten while the various apps and shortcuts populate and rearrange themselves a handful of times. With Android 10, Google has created new tools that make it possible for the share sheet to load instantly.

DARK THEME
At I/O, Google confirmed an official Dark Theme is coming with Android 10. The new theme will darken the interface, reducing strain on your eyes as well as saving battery life.

LIVE CAPTION
For deaf users, Google is adding a Live Caption feature that will add subtitles to any video being watched on the phone. You won't need a data connection to use the feature -- it's all done on the device itself.

PARENTAL CONTROLS
Google's Digital Wellbeing tool is gaining support for tighter parental controls. Parents will be able to approve app installs, set screen time limits, create app limits, and set a bedtime.

FOLDABLE SCREEN SUPPORT
With devices like the Galaxy Fold and Huawei X coming, Android 10 includes features to better support for detecting when an app has been paused (perhaps when a display is folded) and when it needs to be resumed (after opening the device), as well as enhanced support for resizing of apps.

DEPTH INFORMATION FROM PHOTOS
Google's Pixel line of phones does a fantastic job of capturing depth in a photo despite only having one camera. Google is integrating some of that technology into Android 10, giving developers and device makers access to the image and the Dynamic Depth captured alongside it through new tools.

GESTURE NAVIGATION
Android 10 adds gestural navigation to the Android platform. Instead of using the staple navigation buttons Android has always had, users swipe and gesture across the screen to go back, return to the home screen, open the app drawer, and trigger Google Assistant. In the final beta release, Google continued to tweak and change how gestures behave in Android 10 -- and then tried to explain its reasoning.

MORE DEVELOPER OPTIONS
If terms like Native MIDI API, ANGLE on Vulkan, or Neural Networks API 1.2 are more your thing, then be sure to read through the bottom section of this Android Developers blog post, where the company details those new features, along with new Wi-Fi performance modes, improved peer-to-peer and internet connectivity.

Importance of Search Engine Optimization(SEO) for a Website

As someone has so morbidly (but correctly!) stated: “The best place to hide a dead body is on the second page of Google Search!!” - Cause nobody looks there.

Now don’t be alarmed…
This quote refers less to homicidal tendencies and more to the importance of Search Engine Optimization(SEO) in modern times.

But now the question arises…What is SEO and why all the fuss ??

Well, Search Engine Optimization helps in increasing the online visibility of a website in the organic (that means unpaid!) results of a search engine. In modern times, SEO is extremely important as it helps the website grow by optimizing the website content and the keywords. In fact, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to say that a business requires SEO for their website in order to achieve optimum results.

Keeping this in mind, we have compiled a list of 10 Reasons Why SEO is Important for a Website (That will also help you understand it more deeply). So, without further ado…Let’s see them!!!

1. SEO Increases Organic Search Web Traffic

What is Organic Search you ask? Well, it is the Google search results that are not from paid ads. Organic search constitutes a major part of the performance of a website and it plays a big part in getting customers to complete conversion in the website. This means that if you want your website to work (And I’m sure you do!!!) SEO is vital as it is a major source of the Organic Search Traffic.

2. Good Website SEO Leads to a Better User Experience
Who doesn’t want better user experience? No one…that who!!! And a better user experience can be obtained by having a user-friendly and clean design, various photos and videos interspersed with the content, etc. All these are also a part of SEO and if a website employes optimal SEO, then it can easily improve their user experience. (You see why SEO is so important?!)

3. SEO Results in more Sales Locally
Local businesses want local sales (Obviously!). And so, it is very important for them that their websites are search engine optimized. This leads to increased online traffic and also a direct increase in sales for them(And who doesn’t want that?!). This correlation between SEO and increased sales exists because most customers prefer to locally search businesses online to find out details about their location, directions, etc.

4. Website Credibility Increases With SEO
SEO results in higher ranks on search engine results which directly increases the credibility of the website as well as the business. If the website is ranked lower on the second or third page, it may lead to losses as it is assumed that the business is new or that they have a low financial position. (Refer to the beginning quote!)

5. SEO is Quantifiable
SEO is quantifiable (That means measurable in case you were wondering!) and the performance and growth of a website after optimization can be easily measured using various methods. Growth in website traffic, improvements in search engine results page rankings, increase in conversions and revenue, etc. can be used to quantify the success of SEO for a website.

6. SEO Makes Ads More Effective
I am sure you have all seen ads on websites and they can be quite jarring!!! However, these ads are used to make users visit the website (even if they have the opposite effect sometimes!). This can be streamlined by SEO wherein the users smoothly continue their journey on the website after the ad click to eventual conversions and not abandon the website because of a non-optimized design.

7. SEO Requires Comparatively Less Constant Engagement
There are many other inbound techniques such as social media, blogging, etc. that require more engagement as compared to SEO (Feeding the social media beast as they call it!). This is because in social media or blogging, constant monitoring of market trends, customer choices, etc. is required and constant updating of new posts is also needed. This constant engagement is comparatively less in SEO as after optimizing a page, only some supervision is needed.

8. SEO Benefits Outweigh Its Costs
While SEO does cost money, it is definitely better to have an optimized website. An optimized website is user-friendly and leads to more interactive traffic. It is also more concise and as fast as possible. This means that the benefits of SEO far outweigh its costs (So you won’t regret it!).

9. SEO leads to increased conversions
SEO leads to an increase in traffic that also leads to increased conversions and optimizes the conversion rate. This can be done by making sure that the optimized website design subtly and seamlessly guides the users to take the required action such as getting a subscription to the newsletter, buying a product, setting an appointment, etc.

10. Mobile SEO Aligns With the Online Activities of Users

Mobile SEO is very important in current times as over 60% of the users engage in mobile online activities (As we all know from personal experience!). This means that if a website is only optimized for a desktop, it is not enough. So, mobile SEO provides seamless integration of the mobile experience with the physical experience as many users search for businesses online to find out details about them before physically visiting them.
